Communication Among Lab Members

Lab members are expected to behave in mature, professional, responsible, appropriate, and ethical ways. The policies specified in this agreement concerning modes of communication and expectations of response times, should apply to interactions between lab members as well (particularly cases of power differential, such as where a senior lab member, such as a graduate student, is supervising a junior member, such as an undergraduate student). In general, Basecamp or email should be used for lab-related communications, rather than personal channels such as text messaging or social media platforms. If you are communicating about a lab project, then Basecamp is typically the best channel, because then everyone on the project team will be up to date ton discussion of the project.
